H is working today and I feel like getting sucked into a good book and reading for most of the day.
My favorite genre is suspense. I like a book that really scares the pants off me and makes me double check all the locks on my doors. My favorite suspense author is Kevin O'Brien if you're familiar with him. Books about stalkers/serial killers and what not are up my alley. I don't necessarily like police procedurals because I think they drag out and get caught up too much in police work rather than the scary, suspenseful part.
I've tried finding similar books to O'Brien's on Barnes & Noble's website but the last few I started I was not feeling at all. So are there any authors or books you could personally recommend in this genre?
I know I don't post here much. But the most suspenseful book I've ever read is Intensity by Dean Koontz. I've read stuff by him before that I thought was okay, but this one was amazing.

I really like Tana French's books. In the Woods is her first one - they're all kind of interconnected, but with a different narrator/mystery in each book. The Likeness was my favorite.

ETA: I just realized that I have Disturbed by Kevin O'Brien. Is it any good? I've been looking for something to suck me in lately.
It's been awhile since I read it, but I remember liking it. I have honestly never read a Kevin O'Brien book that I have not liked. I've read every single one of his thrillers. My favorites are probably Terrified and Watch Them Die.

I've never read any of his books but the ones I've looked at online all sound right up my alley. Thanks!
Have you read Erin Kelly? Her most recent - the burning Air - was suspenseful. I gasped out loud at one point. Her first one - the poison tree - was good too.
