Even though it's super early, my sister told me she's pregnant. She's about 6 weeks. However, she had a prior molar pregnancy, so she's understandably nervous.
I told her I'd help her brainstorm for a fun way to share with my grandparents who might just die of happiness. Cheesy isn't bad for my sappy gramma.
Sis and my BIL will visit my grandparents for the 4th of July, so she'll be there after a hopefully happy 8 week confirmation u/s. My parents will also be there, and they already know. That allows my sister to have an accomplice in the surprise.
My initial suggestion was to have my dad suggest a picture of them, and then do the countdown 1,2, we're pregnant. The reaction shots would be awesome with my hamball of a gramma. Plus, I'm selfish, and that would allow me to see it
But, she's open to anything else that could get a similarly great reaction. Any other ideas?

Congratulations!
I'm a fan of the picture while sharing the news. Those are always fun. I'd go with that one.
I've also seen the framed ultrasound picture (with grandma, great grandma, etc. on it). My grandmother would have no idea what an ultrasound picture was, so that wouldn't have been a good choice.

Dude, my poor sister. I just talked with my parents, and my mom literally said "I have a great way to surprise them. I have some of your dad's old baby clothes, and I'll put them in a gift basket for your sister to give to gramma. Don't tell your sister I have these things."
And then mom asked if I had ideas, so I shared the picture thing. She's all "great, we can do both." No, mom, it's my sister's secret to share, her decision. Back the eff off. At least my dad backed me on that. I know he'll talk her down, but, damn. It's totally not in character for her, either. She's really not pushy. Just crazy neurotic.

Future grandparents can lose all sense of sanity.
I think the pic is a great idea.
I told my family over the phone b/c tey're 2000 miles away. Locally, when I got together with some friends I wore a tshirt that said "Does this baby make me look fat?" Ha! I like your pic idea better!
