Thursday - L took the kids to see Despicable Me 2 while I did some errands and got my toes and eyebrows done. That evening we went to a 4th event - they had food trucks/games for kids/etc and a very obstructed view of the fireworks. LOL. But they were setting fireworks off all around us, so we saw plenty. It was actually a great place for families. The kids were asleep before we got out of the parking lot.
Friday - we had to work and so the kids went to camp. We went for Mexican for dinner. Everyone in my house was asleep by 8pm, so I stayed up watching a documentary about Public Defenders.
Saturday - L took the kids to the gym and grocery shopping while I studied and got ready for their godfather to come over. We had a great time visiting with him and hanging out with his 6w old daughter. Oh, I miss newborns. We'd signed the kids up for Parents Night Out, but decided not to send them because we weren't hungry, there were no movies that started at the right time for us to go, we didn't need to go shopping, and we were tired. I texted our friend to see if her son wanted to come over and go to the pool with us - I meant for Sunday evening, but didn't clarify that. Oops. And before I knew it, he was en route. So, the boys played at home for awhile, we took them to the pool, and then met his mom at the frozen yogurt place and let the kids run around. Turned out fine, and we had a good time.
Sunday - I had to work all day while L hung out with the kids. Got home in time to go to the pool with L and the kids for an hour before the storm rolled in. Thankfully, it was short lived, so I could grill burgers and got ready for the week.
Thursday: I was off. My wife worked, so I got things packed up and got the boy ready. We drove up to her work to pick her up (in another town, about half an hour away and on the way to her parents' house so we left her car there for the weekend), then headed on up to the ILs' place. Did a little fishing in their pond. Had a few small fireworks/rockets and watched a huge display by someone nearby.
Friday: did some more fishing and took it easy. Had a fish fry and ate what we caught (so good).
Saturday: I went out for a run, then my wife helped me make deviled eggs. We all headed to her cousin's house for a party. Her sister, sister's GF, and mom took the boy back to their house to put him to bed. We stayed waaaaaaay too late (after 3am).
Sunday: got up and had breakfast, and just hung out. I read for a bit which was awesome, it's been too long since I've done that. Headed home. Got the car unloaded, ate a little dinner, then all snuggled on the couch and watched a movie before going to bed. It was a really nice weekend overall.

Thursday: E was with her dad for the day. I slept in a bit then got up and prepped outside for pressure washing the fence. The prior owners never stained (or cleaned!) the fence. Spent 3 hours that afternoon pressure washing. Neighbors invited me to join them for dinner. Met E and her dad at the lake park in our town for fireworks.
Friday: 7 hours of pressure washing. Picked up E and we had pizza and a movie night.
Saturday: 4 hours of pressure washing to finish it up. E was VERY patient while I finished. Afterwards we went to a new theater to see Despicable Me 2 and enjoyed it very much. Afterwards we grabbed dinner, stopped at the store and headed for home.
Sunday: We had considered going to the zoo (E has a summer camp field trip there in a few weeks) or going on a hike, but E asked if we could just go to Costco and stay home. I was more than happy to oblige. So I did laundry and a few chores, we hit Costco and then had crockpot ribs, our first time making them and they were pretty good.
Well, Little Bear and I were gone for two weeks! We car-camped from WA to IL and back. It was an interesting experience for us. Only drawback was the car was overheating a lot on the trip. So, we had frequent breaks and did cool things! He had a blast running through sprinklers and walked an entire disc golf course with me (27 holes) one day and spent the next morning with another 3 year old and the tournament director. What joy! I would love to go camping more often with him and it has re-enforced my passion for traveling.
Wednesday e and I painted flower it's for e's great grandparents ( one for the house and one for the cemetery).
Thursday drove to nh for celebration in a tiny town that dw's parents grew up in. Awesome small town parade and BBQ. Drove home that night.
Friday dw had to work so e and I met a preemie mom that I am on a private board with at a cool farm place with a splash pad. It was awesome and we had a great time.
Sat back up to nh this time to my inlaws lake house. We celebrated summer birthdays rode on the jet ski, swam off the boat, took pictures of the bald eagle family, watched a boat parade, and some fireworks. Fun but very busy.
Sunday more water fun then left around 3 to come home. I am tired just thinking about it.
