Shortly after I changed my eating habits I noticed that I have significantly decreased the amount of food I was eating. That's good though because one of my biggest issues was overeating and huge portion sizes.
Before, breakfast would be 2-3 eggs, 3-4 slices of bacon, hash browns, toast, and coffee. Now, a similar breakfast is 1 egg, 1 slice of bacon, and coffee. (I don't eat bread or potatoes anymore).
For the most part, I have a protein drink every morning, a salad for lunch, and dinner is 75% vegetables and 25% animal protein. I add protein to my lunch salads and when I'm done eating I feel really full.
I'm getting my appetite back from after my surgery but now I'm feeling hungry late at night (right now). If I were to eat something now, I know I'd feel really stuffed so I don't want to eat and feel gross all night.
If I drink water then I end up peeing all night.
I've been trying to go to bed earlier since I plan on returning to work this week but I don't know if I should just push through the hungry feeling or what. I really don't want to eat more at mealtime because I *know* that the amount of food I'm eating should be enough. I don't want to feel stuffed and on the times that I've over eaten, I've actually ended up throwing up because I felt so gross.
I don't like feeling hungry late at night but I don't want to eat because it's too late to eat.
When I feel snacky late at night I have frozen fresh fruit. I like frozen mango or blueberries. Low calories and sweet so I feel like I am getting a treat.
I love snacking and make popcorn almost every night. It's relatively light and healthy. Maybe you can have carrots and hummus, string cheese, something light but good for you?

If this keeps happening, take your dinner portion and halve it. Eat half at dinner and half as a late night "snack". That way, you're still eating the same amount of calories/ratios but you're also satisfying a dinner hunger and a late night hunger.
If you skip eating tonight and you're hungry, chances are, you're going to wake up even hungrier and possibly not feeling too hot.
If you're truly hungry, eat. If you're just craving something, don't eat. But for serious, if your body is telling you you're hungry, then you need to eat.
