Her lunch was way healthier than what was offered when My Eldest was in school there. The portions on a few of them seem a bit small.

Dinner is referring to lunch, yeah?
Looks healthier than anything I ate in school, but it doesn't look like a lot of food to me.

Brit to real English: Breakfast, dinner, tea = breakfast, lunch, dinner
The council is stupid. She wasn't slamming them at all. And frankly, except for portion size, they looked like a school lunch to be proud of.

To be fair we used to call lunch dinner in the US until recently too. I wonder how dinner came to be used for supper instead of lunch.

My thoughts exactly. And I found it quite cool that other kids are sending her pictures of theirs - funny to see how they compare.
