I bet its pine pollen. It just left Mass about a week and a half, two weeks ago, so I bet that's what you're getting now. Its thick and yellow, right? That stuff is the worst. Its not really allergenic, since the particulate is so large, but it gets on everything. I seriously dusted my house about 20 times. Eventually I started keeping the windows closed, just until the week passed.
It is a bumper year for pine pollen. It will pass in about a week and be totally gone outside after a couple of good rains. Hang in there!
The warmer winter has made this allergy season hell, and my son and I spent months consuming various allergy meds. I strongly recommend damp dusting so that you aren't just spreading the pollen around.
I'm in PA and I would say the worst of our pollen season has passed. However, there is still yellow residue every time it rains. I despise winter but the best thing that could happen this coming winter is for a solid freeze to kill everything off.
The trees KILLED me this year. Luckily I'm not allergic to pine. I'm scared to dust my house, though, because I know it's still hanging around. I think DH was going to attempt it today without me being in the house.
