My dad called me Monday to let me know he wasn't doing very well. He had throat cancer, was in remission, and it came back full force. They were scheduled to move him today to hospice. I made plans to go down this weekend to see him. It all happened so fast. He was my dad's best friend. He has 6 brothers and they were the closest.
I'm nervous to go down to my parents. I'm not used to seeing my dad upset or sad. This is going to be so hard.
When my grandpa died, my dad held it together until I went up and have him a hug. Then he lost it and started crying. The same thing is probably going to happen. I'm trying to prepare myself.

I'm so sorry for your loss. When my granddad passed it was hardest to see my dad so upset; he and his dad were extremely close. Thoughts and prayers for you and your family.
