I have had the 3-day headache a couple of times this pregnancy. Two times ago, I went to yoga, because, why not? Oh my word - it was heavenly! My headache was gone. My instructor said that the inverted poses like downward dog can help relieve headaches. The next time I had a day-long headache, I went home and stretched gently and then moved carefully into downward dog. It helped so much and my headache was gone!
I have a really great prenatal yoga DVD that I do at home sometimes, too. It's from a local place here in the TC. Let me know if you're interested and I'll PM you the title tonight when I get home.
Yeah I have no idea then, I'm sorry. Have you talked to your OB about it? I found calling and talking to the nurses was always really helpful.
Yeah I spoke with her on Monday, but I told her that if I drink more water, it kind of helps and if I just lay around and do nothing. She checked my blood pressure and told me to keep drinking water, but "not too much". Well that was helpful.
Sounds like you might be slightly dehydrated which can cause headaches. How much water are you getting? With it being summer and hot you may need more.

Do your prenatals have a lot of iron? If my iron is low I get lethargic and headachy. I always think "Oh water!" But then I eat something and feel better.
I may be off base here, but the humidity is fucking with my head too.
As your belly gets bigger just walk your legs out more and bend your knees more. I also found doing that but w my arms/torso on a chair helped get the same effect w/o the "baby in my throat" feeling.
I actually HIGHLY recommend yoga through pregnancy. I was teaching through 24 weeks and after that did as much as I could do.
julez, what exactly is the downward dog pose? I'm going to google this and try it too.
Please send me the title! I hate yoga, but I'm willing to try we will be in TC this weekend so I probably can pick it up at this store you're talking about.

Maybe it is the humidity. It's been SO humid here lately and I had a killer HA this afternoon, in between my eyes and the back of my head/neck. I was literally outside less than 20 minutes today and that is all it took. I hope you feel better soon. I had to take 3 advil to get mine to go away but I know you can't do that pregnant. Hopefully someone else's suggestion works for you.
My massage therapist says when you get a headache to put something cold on your forehead or the back of your neck and something warm on the other side. I have never tried it but it is worth it! Also, a poster last week said to Voltaren is safe to use, and I have used it on my neck headaches before and it was magical! Feel better soon!

I had headaches for the first 20 weeks of my pregnancy. At least every other day, but more like nearly daily. I told the high risk OB where I get my ultrasounds done and he recommended caffeine in the morning in the form of coffee and caffeine in the evening in the form of tea.
It has helped tremendously. Since I started that I've had 2 headaches and I'm just about 24 weeks now. It's night and day from what it was.
I could be a bit dehydrated, I will keep drinking water. I pee all the time though!
And yeah, it has been humid like hell lately and we have no AC. May be time to get one. We have the ductwork all set, so we just need to get the AC itself
ETA, what is "a lot of iron"? How much should I be taking?
You don't have AC?? Crazy girl. Go but the unit or just a window one to hold you over.

It is recommended to take 30 mg while pregnant. Depending on your prenatal you may have it, but probably not. First pregnancy this wasn't mentioned 2007. My last one was.
And no AC, yeah, I think the humidity is wreaking havoc on ou!
Mekia, google reflexology for headaches - I get super bad tension headaches, and sometimes hitting the pressure points in the pad of my thumb and on top of my foot behind my big toe helps. I've also hear massaging your earlobes, lol.
Are you getting any exercise? Sometimes if I go from working out to not all of a sudden, my muscles tighten up. Can you go for a mellow jog?

I like to lay a cold can of soda or something. I place it on a pillow in the back of my neck and it feels good. It also helps to roll your neck around on it because the pressure along with the cold is nice.
