So, yesterday I had to go to the dentist to have a filling that had been there for years replaced, as it had cracked. It was between two teeth and he had a tough time getting it buffed down properly, so I was there for a while, and pretty darn sore afterwards. Today, it is not the gum that is sore, but the filling feels funny. Like I can feel cold air going in it, or something. And it also feels like I am closing my mouth on a little mini rock that is stuck there. I haven't had a filling since the original one, so I am wondering if something is wrong, or does it get better? Is it supposed to feel tender for a while, or should it just be fine by today? Any input would be greatly appreciated....

I'm a dentist although everyone here already gave you the right advice. Call them and go in as soon as you're able to though, if your bite is high it can make the tooth and the tooth it bites with sore. The sensitivity is normal though and should go away eventually.

Sounds normal to me. The tooth isn't going to be exactly the same so it will take your brain a little while to adjust. My fillings always feel a bit big and rough but smooth out. I'd give it a week or so and see if you think it feels less weird. Did your dentist have you bit down on a little strip thingy and grind your teeth around?
Sometimes the enamel colored fillings can be temperature sensitive. Mine usually take a few weeks to "calm down." If it doesn't go away around the month mark or if it starts getting worse call your dentist. One of my teeth went a bit crazy last time and he gave me some special toothpaste that helped.
