The itch from my surgical incision is driving me mad.

It is taking every ounce of control for me not to dig my nails in it and feel the sweet relief of a satisfying scratch.

But, I don't want to die of infection, so I wont.

Scratch the opposite side of your body. It helped when I had my leg in an immobilizer. Distracted me a bit. Also, icepacks.

I second the ice packs. It is the only thing that gives my 5yo DD instant relief from her eczema when she has a bad flair up.

I had the lap but there is a 2 inch incision on my upper abdomen, one near my belly button and two round marks on my right side. No stitches, just glue.

The upper ab one is the only one that itches.

Thanks for the tip. I can't quite stretch enough to reach around but I'll try and icepack.

Have you had the glue before?  I would call the doc in the morning if it is intolerable, you might be having an allergic reaction.

I feel like this is my constant answer like suesue's protein. I've taken Benedryl when my surgical sites start to itch. Usually helps with the itch a little, as well as makes me drowsy so I forget about it. Hope your on your way to feeling better. Gallbladders seem to be such nasty organs when they act up.

I've never had the glue before. Hmm. I guess I'll call in the AM. FWIW, there's no redness or other issues, it just itches.
