About this whole mortgage thing. I sent an email last night telling our mortgage guy it was very clear the property was a condo and that we expect to have the 4% rate that we locked-in back in June.
I haven't heard from him (I sent it last night). Do you think I should call in a bit? Ask to speak to his supervisor?
We're set to close on Wednesday so there really isn't a lot of time.
I would absolutely call. And if he's not helpful, go above him. And if his supervisor is not helpful, go above him.
If you look back through some of my older posts, you'll see I went through something similar recently. Except I was told we locked at 3.5, and found out a few days later that my loan officer locked us at 3.875 instead without telling me. Her direct supervisor was completely unhelpful, so I went to regional management and after some strongly worded emails and phone convos, they honored the 3.5. Run that shit up the chain until you get them to honor it.

Did you lock in your rate? If you're set to close on Wednesday I'm assuming that you locked a few weeks ago, and that should be honored.
We locked in our rate at 4% and our mortgage guy sent us an email yesterday saying that the original rate was based on a single family home and our new rate would need to be 4.65%. He had a copy of our appraisal, mentioned condo insurance policies etc. So it would be impossible to not know it was a condo. He wants us to sign new docs agreeing to the changes which I am not going to do.

So he is either a real idiot, or he is trying to pull one over on you. Either way, light up the phone.
