NYC people, need some help/info

I was going to suggest a friend-of-a-friend of mine who has a gorgeous room up on airbnb but he's charging way more than $1000/month. I can see if he's willing to come down though. It's in Brooklyn. What are the dates your friend will be here?

He may also want to look into whether any colleges (Columbia or NYU, for example) have sublet listings, particularly because it is summer. He could probably contact their off-campus housing offices or what-have-you to see.

Speaking if NYC, when will you be in the city? Did you guys find a place?

I live Lima on the 21st of July, and I am meeting my mom in NYC.  She's gonna help me find a place, and then we are heading to her place in Arizona for a couple weeks.  Then DH is going to get our stuff from storage in Indiana and meet me in NYC. phew!
