We've been going to swim lessons this week. One girl and her son have had a posse of 4-5 people with them filming and taking pictures the whole time every day. They sometimes get in the way of the other people in the class trying to get different shots or angles. After class there is a little bit of free swim time in the toddler pool and these people continue to follow the girl and her kid around filming everything they do. Every day.
Maybe her H is out of town so they're filming everything so he doesn't miss a thing? Maybe she's a vlogger? The mom looks really young so maybe she's trying to get on MTV? J/K, kindof.

This would be weird to me. My only experience with swim class was when I was little and in swim class, and the parents were relegated to a glassed-in room above the pool from which they could watch. Of course this was way before the advent of social media and smart phones.
For C's swim school this is annoying but not so unusual. There are lots and lots of mom-tographers at swim school with their giant cameras and lenses each week. When the grandparents are in town they go with us to swim class and they will often use cell phones or iPads to take videos and pictures, but they don't get in the way.

She doesn't look like a celebrity to me. Just a normal, albeit, young mom. The camera they're using for filming doesn't look like anything special either. She's probably just a blogger or something.
H went the first two days because he was off and took some pictures, but he stayed back, out of the way and put the camera down from time to time. None of the other parents are still taking pictures now that we're on day four either.
Four hours of a two-year-old swimming just seems like a lot of video footage of something that really isn't all that exciting.
If I get a chance to ask what's up I will. Classes resume next week.
Huh....most community pools that I go to specifically prohibit photos and video during public sessions and lessons. If it were a show or something, then I would think they would have made the whole class sign some kind of release in case their likeness was being used.
Edit: the no photography thing could be a UK thing, I'm not sure, I never noticed that in the US

Not if they are blurring everyone out.
If they are filming for tv or something (seriously doubt it, but you never know) I hope they blur me out. No one wants to see me in a swim suit, even if it is The Suit.
Very weird. I am surprised they are allowed to take pictures at a public pool, even if they were planning on blurring people out...Usually no cameras or anything are permitted on the pool deck.
