I have not stopped crying today

The services for my friend who committed suicide were today.

The funeral chapel was standing room only, the likes of which I have only seen for a dignitary, and the tributes from people who knew him best were just so touching. There was not a dry eye in the room. People he rode with, went to elementary school with, danced with, sang karaoke with, coached, worked with... The list just goes on and on.


How did he not know how many people loved him?

I also knew I would be seeing my friend who broke up with me and was thinking about how I would handle that. We both loved our friend so much. I almost sent her a message letting her know that I would be coming and that I would give her space but ended up getting sidetracked.

She said hi to me when she passed me at the restaurant we all met at after the service. I said hi back and thought that was it.

She came up to me a little later and was crying and put her arms around me and hugged me tight and told me "Life is too short. I love you" and I told her I loved her too. I broke down and started sobbing and told her I missed her every single day and that I was sorry I hurt her and she said she was sorry she hurt me. She told me she missed me, too and that she loved me.


I'm a mess, you guys. My heart hurts so much over losing my friend but reconnecting with my friend is just so amazing.

This totally brought tears to my eyes. I am so sorry for your loss today must have been soo hard. I am so happy though for you though for reconnecting with your friend. I know how much you were hurting over the loss of her friendship. ((MB))

WOW. You know what, I think it's a wonderful thing that at least something good came out of such a horrible tragedy.  These things make us evaluate what is really important and appreciate what we have.  I'm so sorry for your loss.

Well, maybe he did know how many people loved him. Maybe other people needing him and wanting him around just wasn't reason enough to keep living. There has to be something in it for him, too, you know?

I'm so sorry for your loss. One of my dearest friends also committed suicide. I gave a eulogy and when I made it front and could see the crowd it crushed my heart again. Like your friend, it was standing room only in a church that could hold hundreds and hundreds and hundreds. How could all the love that surrounded him not make a difference? Big hugs to you...
