My H wouldn't have left everything in out outdated 50s Ranch as it was when we loved. He has no concept of home decor. As long as he is warm he doesn't care what anything looks like.
Oh I feel you. My husband insisted he really liked this one part of the landscaping we inherited - and it happened to be item #1 on my list of things to redo in our landscaping project. It was a little rough going and it took a year, but guess what i redid last weekend? That will teach him to have an opinion.
If worse comes to worse, you always have the Lysistrata nuclear option in your back pocket. Just sayin.
We inherited the world's ugliest dining room set from my ILs that includes black pleather cushions on the seats. I told H that I was going to get the seats recovered to at least update that part of the look. He usually goes along with my taste, but he put his foot down on this one item, insisting the black pleather looks fabulously classic. He's got a point...if you dig a dated 70s look.
I despise that entire set and keep hoping it magically burns to the ground one day without damaging the rest of the house.
