What did you do this weekend?

Friday - traffic was abysmal, so L and I both headed to the kids' camp to see who would get there first (since I wasn't sure that L would make it by the pick up deadline.) Rather than fighting traffic home, we went to dinner and got the kids' hair cut. When we got home, L opened up her mail and said, "What did you buy at Lowes for $700?" Needless to say that started a spiral of discovering my identity theft. Stayed up way past midnight filling out forms/making calls/etc.

Saturday - L took the kids to the gym while I studied (and passed my first practice exam (I've been bombing them!) We did a few errands and then went to the pool for a few hours. Got frozen yogurt and then watched the Great and Powerful Oz with the kids. Carter woke up at 10pm from a bad dream (I think from the movie...oops.) and was in our bed all night, which meant I didn't sleep more than 30m without a foot in my kidney or an arm being thrown over my face. Zzzzzzzz. But all in all, it was a great summer day!

Sunday - lazy morning at home for me while L made brownies and did workbook pages with the kids. Went to Costco and then home for lunch and more relaxing before I took the kids to a birthday party and L went to a funeral. Met up at home and got the kids to bed and stayed up late reading and watching The Newsroom.

Friday - edged the driveway and got the weeds out. Ordered pizza for dinner.

Saturday - group run. Stopped for bagels on the way home. I showered and we all ate, then headed out for a movie matinee (Epic). Came home and had a late lunch/early dinner. Sealed most of the driveway while he played in the yard but ran out of stuff.

Sunday - she worked OT. I took the boy to the store to get more sealer. We also bought some plants (he got to pick), some seeds and a little growing tray. Went home and ate lunch, then worked in the yard for HOURS. Took a few breaks to go in and get out of the heat and have a snack. She got home from work, I finished up the yard stuff and she finished sealing the driveway. Then we got cleaned up and went out for wings and beer (well, she had beer).

It was a really good, productive weekend overall but I am sore today!

Friday: E was with her dad for the weekend and A had to work nights. I picked up some beer and take and bake pizza. I called my parents to wish them happy anniversary (44 years!) and then went outside to take down the fence boards that were damaged in a storm prior to us moving in and replaced them. Had a late dinner and stayed up late watching bad TV.

Saturday: Up at 6am to call the home depot and put a hold on a paint sprayer. I picked it up shortly after 7, came home and hung plastic in the places on the house that needed covering and started painting around 9:30. I stopped for lunch and A and I FaceTimed for a few minutes before she went to bed. I got a few hours into the afternoon and was sure I'd need more paint, so I called to have them mix it and headed out to get it. I finished all the spraying by 6pm and just have one section of top rail that needs to be brushed, but by then I was beat and had to clean up the equipment. I dropped off the sprayer just before 8pm and went home for a quick dinner and a much needed shower. I packed some clothes for Sunday and stopped to buy A some flowers and got to her place around 11pm after she'd left for work. I sent her a text to let her know I was there (surprise!) which she didn't get until she was leaving work Sunday morning and was immediately mortified at her messy house. I said I wasn't there to check up on her cleaning skills, I was there to see her.

Sunday: Our one year dating anniversary. A came home from work after 6am and showered and crawled in bed with me and napped. We had a lazy morning in bed. We went to brunch at a new favorite place on the water with a view of the Olympic Mountains. It was a beautiful day and we sat outside and just enjoyed each other's company. Afterwards she needed to run a couple of errands, so we did those and then went back to her place. I headed for home and she went to sleep before going back to work. I was pretty wiped from Saturday, but I managed to get groceries and make some tofu fried rice for tonight's dinner and called it a night.
