We are waiting on a lot of things before we do our kitchen reno (paperwork, waiting for contractor to finish some commitments, elevator work in our building, etc.) and it could be months before we even get to choose our new appliances. I hate our current DW. It's seriously from the dinosaur era. All dishes essentially need to get rinsed beforehand and everything has to be just so for it to do its job. I want to get our new DW now and not wait for the reno. DH thinks that's a crazy idea and told me I was being impatient.
It's only going to be a few months. I get why you're anxious. It just doesn't seem to make sense. You don't know if matching appliances will even be available a few months from now. They likely will, but what if?
Also - sometimes you need to go with an awkward dimension, or opt for a built-in.
Just wait. It's only a dishwasher, and your reno will be here before you know it.
Definitely wait... also, this may not be a popular opinion, but since you have to rinse them so much already, you might just want to go ahead and hand wash them, then you wouldn't have to deal with the dishwasher and you could just wash then as you use them so they dont build up.

I just got my first ever dishwasher 2 months ago. I've never lived in a house that had one. We've been in this house 7 years and had to wait to do some renos first. I agree with the others who said to wait.

I would wait as well. When we redid our kitchen, I got a great deal on the appliances because I bought the same brand from the same place (LG @ Sears). I saved major bucks and I like the look of the matching design. That being said, I am not a huge fan of the dishwasher I picked out. It does not dry well and gets an odor sometimes. It does, however, wash dishes very well.
