I'm thinking about entering the Small Cool Kitchens contest

My only hesitation is that I don't feel like it's entirely finished yet. I still want something on the window and a poster for the nook next to the cabinets. Thoughts?

Yes, you should do it. Even without the window covering and poster, it's a nice, dramatic change. If you think it's important, though, can you do something quick for the window tonight or tomorrow? I just came across this and actually think it's a good idea. Maybe it's something that could work for you. Also, what kind of poster were you thinking about hanging?

you should enter! I love seeing all the inspirational kitchens. Go for it. If you don't have time for the finishing touches you want, maybe stage the counters for photos with food to prep or a bowl of fruit.

Um, ok, so I woke up this morning with the most duuuuh realization. Our Girl with a Pearl Earring poster would go perfectly in there. You all are probably giggling right about now.

I used Adobe Illustrator to map out my rooms. It was a pain but it worked! There's gotta be a website for layout mapping somewhere.

Very nice! I agree you need more styling with a window covering and a piece of art. Also, what do you have that you can put over your refrigerator? You need more bottles of wine (or something) to put in the rack and add something other than a roll of paper towels in the open space close to the ceiling. Maybe more bottles, a plant or some colorful plates standing up.

I can't remember what I signed up for, but I used something that you could map out rooms and place doorways and furniture.  Just google for free floorplan creators or something along those lines.

Thanks. No, I still haven't done this. I tried SketchUp and got stuck. I also tried one that wouldn't allow me to configure such a room because it wasn't possible. Ha. Oh, it is.
