Is this a Netflix exclusive? I just saw it available on there and thought it was just beginning. I didn't know it was already through season 1. I had never heard of it before about a week ago.

When it's a Netflix series, they'll release an entire season all at once. That's why you only heard about it a week ago, but there's already a full season up. I finished it a few days ago. Fantastic. The ending was a bit predictable, but I still enjoyed it. Apparently it's based on a book? Either way, I want more!

We watched episode 1 last night. No one told me it originally aired on skinemax!
Seriously, it seemed like a whole lot of gratuitous boobs just to catch a male audience. I'm hoping it actually gets interesting because first episodes are usually plodding. At least with all the (.)(.) H will want to watch with me?

Maybe? I got DH to watch the first episode last night, he thought it was ok.
I'm sure he didn't hate the fact that there were a lot of (.)(.)

Lol - Yeah, I thought the same thing. I think it was a little more gratuitous in the first episode to bring people in. I'm on episode 4 I think and didn't notice it as much in the last two episodes as I did in the first episode.
We watched episodes 2 and 3 the other night and would have watched the 4th if we weren't dead tired, so, yes, it does get better and less boobfilled. Poor H
I watched the whole season between Friday and today and loved it. I kind of "eh" about the first episode, but I kept going because I had heard so many good things, and I'm so, so glad I did. I can't remember a show when I've been this invested in so many of the characters. Showing the inmates' back stories is such a good idea. I love Taystee and Crazy Eyes. Laura Prepon actually bugs the heck out of me, but she was good in this role. I requested the book from the library, although a lot of the reviews say Piper is annoying, which I can see, because her character is kind of annoying. So a book written in her voice is probably kind of annoying too, but I'm interested anyway.
They haven't shown Crazy Eyes' back story yet, have they? Or Big Boo? I love that she's the puppy wrangler. And do we know what Poussey did to get into prison?
I kind of want to watch it again to get a look at the characters I didn't get to "know" until later. DH was away this weekend so if he wants to watch it, I'll watch again with him.
A woman in her late 20s (maybe early 30s) who goes to minimum-security prison for aiding her drug-dealing girlfriend 10 years prior. The show starts on the first day she's reporting to prison but uses a lot of flashbacks to tell her story and the stories of some of the other inmates.

I immediately recognized Pablo Schreiber from Weeds. I just saw a picture of him from The Wire. Seriously - would NOT have recognized him. His nose looks different. I had heard he was in the Wire, but I couldn't place him. Now that I have ... wouldn't have made the connection on my own.
