A Fox News reporter in the US has walked off set after her fellow host made a sexist comment.
The two co-hosts of the cable-news morning show Fox and Friends, Gretchen Carlson and Brian Kilmeade, had just watched a segment about a member of a Navy band which had been all-male until 1980.
“Women are everywhere," Kilmeade said in response to the story.
"We’re letting them play golf and tennis now. It’s out of control."
With that Carslon stood up from the couch where she was sitting and began to walk away.
"You know what?" she said over her shoulder, "You know what? You read the headlines, since men are so great. Go ahead."
"Finally!" Kilmeade said, adding, "leaving an all-male crew."
"In all your glory, go for it!" Carlson said. As she departed, Kilmeade cracked, "eh, she needed a shower."
"Not gonna lie; I kind of keep expecting you to post one day that you threw down on someone who clearly had no idea that today was NOT THEIR DAY." ~dontcallmeshirley
I have watched that show before and I would totally take this all as done in fun. That's all those guys do on that show. I'm betting that Brian Kilmeade wasn't really complaining about women in tennis and golf.
I watched the video of it and it kind of seems like more of a "sketch" that she was in on than her actually walking off because she's pissed.
Agreed. This looks like it was planned... Plus, his joke was obviously a joke. Hardly something to walk off the set over.
In any event, I actually would not agree with her walking off if this were for real. Rather than proving some great point about sexism, it would make her look emotional and unprofessional.

And of course only women are emotional. ;-)
No, of course not. But this is one of the stereotypes that we're up against in the office. Walking off the set over something so petty is just unprofessional.
