She sobs herself to sleep in my arms more often than not everyone says it gets better around week 10 and I hope so. I hate not being able to soothe/comfort her.
It comes and goes. It's usually worse at 9 pm but there is a mid day melt down too. The biggest problem is I can see her getting tired but if she doesn't fall (and stay ) asleep right away she gets more tired. And as she approaches over tired, well it gets bad.

Are you putting her down when she is drowsy? This worked really well for my girls, rather than waiting for them to fall asleep or something. But, I also think all babies have a witching hour where they are just a mess. For K, it is around 5 and she also wanted an early bedtime at a very early age. It was just how she rolled.
And just keep trying different things, you will find what works for her. She is also trying to figure all this stuff out. YOu can even try rolling those small flannel blankies and tuck them next to her in her crib/bassinet. Some babies like the comfort of that pressure.
No dumb questions! We half swaddle. She FREAKS if her arms are constrained. Has hated it since day 2. She likes her arms above her head when sleeping.
Maybe I'll try putting her down when drowsy tonight. So far putting her down too soon has ended in eyes wide open and then complaining But we haven't tried it before she seems asleep.
Oh the boys hated swaddling, too. Arms-out swaddles definitely helped.
Also what helped is: putting down drowsy, keeping pressure on them while shushing in the crib (the goal being to soothe but not pick up, and they both liked feeling the hand underneath instead of on their chest), and pacifiers.
