I'll start off w/ some TMI. I've managed to almost exclusively bf all week and I got my period. wtf!? Does this mean I'm more fertile again, even though I'm bf'ing? Not that I wouldn't use protection anyway b/c I think I'm good for a while w/ the kiddos I have.

I've been EBF since day 5 and my period came back before 4 months. I assume it means I'm fertile, and I assumed I was before that anyways.

The rules on what you have to do use BF to avoid fertility are pretty extreme, no pacifiers is one I remember. Even then I'd be paranoid.

you can get pg long before ever getting your period again - i know many who have while nursing... the old "i didn't think you could get pg while nursing!" accidents....

Oh definitely. I know it's still very possible to get pg while bfing, period or no. I'm not taking any chances.

FWIW, I was forty, exclusively nursing and got my period at 6w pp, and then got pg while I was still exclusively nursing (at 4m pp). We were trying, though, because I was "elderly" which, yo, is a bad, bad word to use with a new mother.
