Future MIL made reservations for our rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding and told us that anyone who is in town that night would be invited. My question is how to go about inviting people- do I send an invitation or just use word of mouth?
Also I want to wear a tulle skirt so if anyone can find one I'd be very thankful! So far I've only seen one at anthro.
My IL's hosted ours and we just invited family that we knew were coming from out of town and we just let them know via phone call or email what the details were.

I would do a cheap invitation - pick up a pack at Target. My IL's hosted it and I went over the list of people with her that she wanted to invite. I went ahead and did the invitations for her and addressed them as if she had done them herself. Everyone just had to let her know if they were coming or not.
But really, we had it catered and I took care of all of that (with their input). They just handed over a check to me. It was easier for everyone that way since they lived 4 hours away from where the wedding was and I was local.
