We bought some new leather barstools a few months ago. Two of them now have small punctures (dang kids!), does anyone know if there's an easy way to repair stuff like this?
We found our leather guy by calling a local furniture retailer that sells a lot of leather: they were able to recommend someone that they use who is a specialist.
Do you know what kind of leather you have? If it's top grain, you'll have more options for a long-lasting good looking fix, but bonded leather (the more inexpensive stuff) can be tougher to repair inconspicuously IM(limited)E. We had an issue with some bonded leather (dang kids!) and unfortunately, even though the patch repair would've been placed under the tear, the perimeter of the patch would've been visible.
We weighed the options and decided against repairing because the rip was in a super visible location and a patch would've been an eyesore. The plan is to replace the piece with something more durable...which is a win for me b/c I never liked that piece of furniture anyway: don't tell my DH! He is mourning the loss of the leather...lol.
