We have a small superficial chip (~1 cm in diameter or less) in our steel enameled tub. I am having a hard time finding an inexpensive (under $10) touch up paint in our biscuit color. Can I use appliance paint or is that just a bad idea? Should I just go with something actually designed for the tub in white (too light) or almond (too dark)? Thanks!

I will admit I used appliance paint at my old house. It looked much better than it did before the touch up and it lasted for years. My chip was very small though, maybe the size of a dry split pea.

I used appliance enamel. It basically looked (and sort of acted) like a bottle of white out. It's not the exact same white, but close enough if you're not looking for the chip.

I'm so glad this came up. My husband knocked over our soap dish the other night and it totally chipped our new tub. I was kind of bummed but at least now I can try and fix it. I didn't even know there was a thing like appliance enamel.
