So, for the last several weeks, there have been tiny gnat-like bugs flying around our office. They had an exterminator out and determined that a CW's flowers are the source of said bugs. It's not like there are clouds of these bugs flying around, but enough to be annoying--I see several each hour and am getting really good at killing them with my bare hands.
CW has not been told to remove her flowers. She is sort of the teacher's pet to the boss. These bugs are driving me BSC and I just freaking inhaled one up my nose. Not to mention, it's disgusting to have a meeting and be swatting at gnats flying around your head. I cannot keep my door shut at work. I just asked our facility manager about it and they were kind of like, "Well, nobody told CW to get rid of the flowers and she outranks me so..."

Wait, coworker outranks facility manager?
*somebody* needs to talk to co-worker or her boss. Those gnat things are a pita to get rid of once they're entrenched. And it doesn't reflect well on your company if you have others in and they're having to swat gnats from co-workers affected flowers.
Well, "facility manager" is not really her title. She's just the person who is responsible for general maintenance issues. CW is basically the right hand woman to the boss.
Does coworker know her flowers are the cause? I feel comfortable enough with my coworkers to say, "hey the bug guy said that the flowers in the office are attracting the gnats." Then I would assume my coworker would then take the flowers home.
I don't know this CW very well. So I couldn't really bring it up in conversation with her, because that would be weird. I don't know if she was told her flowers were the source and she just didn't care, or if nobody told her because they didn't want to step on her toes.
My direct supervisor could say something to her boss, but she's OOT for the next few weeks.
