They send you all of the materials (except batting and thread) to do one quilt and then ask that you do one of your own out of your stash.
Here's the quilt using the materials they sent (the Robert Kaufman Celebrate Seuss! 2 collection that doesn't come out until July)
And here's my stash quilt (Michael Miller Dino Dudes and assorted Ta Dots with a few stripes)
The turn around time they request is 4-6 weeks, which I think is really reasonable. The only other odd request is that you zig zag closed the seam you use to self-bind on the front so that it doesn't get caught in IV tubing.
It was very easy and if you have the time, I'd highly suggest requesting a kit!

As someone whose child has been the beneficiary of a couple of hospital blankets, THANK YOU! It really does help make the room feel a bit less "sterile" and more cozy.
Cute! I love them too! And I'm also grateful for people who make hospital blankets, DS got one when he was in th NICU when he was born, it was a lovely surprise and very cheerful. One day I hope to make some too, I need to get on top of my crafting projects first though, I don't have a lot of time these days though.
