We just had a lunch seminar and the presenter left the group and nice potted orchid. She said to have the boss decide where to put it, to which everyone unanimously said, Motzie's the boss. Hahaha, everyone laughs (because I'm just the admin) and then at the end one of our head guys says, I'm putting this on Motzie's desk. My counter is the shared counter. Snacks go there, it's community space.
First 5 minutes I'm yelling at the young guys who feel the need to touch the flowers, and then I leave to do something, and when I come back, it's gone. I thought someone was messing with me, but our contract administrator took it and put it on her desk. Passive aggressive much? She is apparently the only one her not afraid of me. I'll have to work on that.
So it wasn't her! The same guy who put the plant there decided it looked too busy and was bad feng shui and some other bullshit. I said wtf, and he was all, I giveth and I taketh away.
I already hate him so no loss there. The other woman thought I moved it and was thanking me profusely this morning.

Office politics are super. My office is pretty small and quiet, so luckily I don't have to deal with too much of that. I would have been very bothered by the whole thing. Woe to the person who takes anything off my desk without my permission!
