I feel like this job is more age-ist than my old job with a bunch of old women. There are people who are FIVE years older than me that consider me a young'un.
DD says "last morning" instead of "yesterday". Actually its more like "wass morden" in her speak. I have no idea where she got this from. She's been saying it ever since she could speak.
Since we were talking Jay Z..... I like Blueprint 3 way better than Magna Carta Holy Grail. Maybe it has to grow on me.
My mom is coming to visit for 2 weeks. Her health unfortunately isn't good. I was hoping she'd be of some help while my H is away on business but turns out it will be like having another person to take care of.
I need a job in an office after this new kid is old enough to go to daycare. Working from home isn't my thing. I procrastinate too much when left to my own devices.
My 2yo has been sleeping sooooooo badly for a long time. His ENT is promising that once his adenoids and tonsils come out that he'll be a whole new boy and this problem will be fixed (surgery is in a month). I really want to believe him but don't want to set myself up for disappointment.
Someone let their dog take a giant shit in our yard and rather than clean it up, covered it with a branch ripped off of one of bushes.
These are the moments I feel like sitting on my front porch with a shot gun all morning.
I laughed at this. I'm sorry.
Some animal the size of a NYC rat was dead on in the middle of our backyard this morning and all the birds were picking at it. I REFUSE to go back there and see what it is. If it wasn't a sign of mental illness, I would scrub the grass with disinfectant after my H disposes of the corpse.
Speaking of washing and mental illness, there is this bath time baby doll that has a jelly smudge on it's belly that only goes away with warm water and comes back really quickly. I feel like little kids all over are re-enacting the Scottish play saying "Out, damned spot!" trying to wash it away and dress her before it comes back. I know it would frustrate the hell out of DD.

It worked for my DD. She had obstructive sleep apnea. She started sleeping through the night a few days after her surgery.

This was my son after his T&A removal. He was a new kid, it was like a light switch instantly. I used to be able to hear him snoring from my room and he slept so silently after surgery I had to get thisclose to hear his breathing.

This is exactly the situation here..his snoring is so bad and it's suspected that he's constantly waking himself up. How was the surgery and recovery? I am dreading it but hoping that the results are so amazing it'll be worth it a million times over.

I so need to hear this!!! He's a very noisy and restless sleeper (when he is actually sleeping). And then during the day he's crabby because I know he's not getting the good sleep he needs! And he's 2.5 so I'm just fucking tired of not sleeping well myself due to him and I feel bad being resentful of a little boy who can't help it :-(
The humidity is coming back after a week of relief. I don't especially mind it - it sucks for running, but it motivates me to get up early and run - and I feel like it encourages people to slow down in general.
It took 15 months, but our dogs have discovered the cloth diaper bin (with the used diapers). Gross.
DS is moving up in daycare (his daycare keeps kids in one room until they are really good walkers and are starting to eat with a spoon etc) and he is going to start to transition next week. This makes me sadder than I thought I'd be. He's my baby!!!!

This is petty, but there's a girl who works in the lab down the hall from my office who has the most annoying voice ever. You know the SNL skit The Californians? She sounds like that, only she seems to have no volume control SO, LIKE, SHE, LIKE, TALKS REALLY LOUD AND, LIKE, STUFF. I can hear her down the hall with my door closed. Sometimes I want to run down the hall, stick my head in the door and yell, "LOUD NOISES!" and then run off again.
So some of you may remember my neighbor saga of last year with them taking advantage of me watching their kid/lying to me/etc.
WELL! Great news! THEY SOLD THEIR HOUSE AND ARE MOVING ACROSS TOWN!
Good riddance, assholes. 2 weeks until they are gone. Ding dong. Their son is Jackson's age, but he's a dick, so I am so glad I will no longer have to make up excuses and deal with Jackson begging to play with him.

On the way to Massachusetts for the Wedding From Hell. Someone's going to finally snap at Bridezilla (not SIL, her fiancée) and my money's on H since he's the vocal sibling. I think I might snap too after her behavior at my baby shower a couple of weeks ago.
I'm just sad I can't get wasted because that would help for a wedding like this.

Hello, you are pregnant. That means you can say whatever the fuck you want to anyone!
At least, that's the way I operated when pregnant. I lost my filter entirely, and everything I thought was written all over my face. I didn't even try to hide it, lol.
I keep wondering why I'm not losing weight, and then I have dinners like last night and remember why. BACON. We had BLTs last night, and it was thick applewood smoked. On homemade jalapeno cheddar bread. With fresh local tomato and lettuce. /drool

H said the same thing. It's finally time I call her out for the rude shit she says to everyone.
I'm a little worried about DD. She's doing a day camp this week that's sports related, soccer, baseball, basketball. She's been super quiet about it to me, which worries me. She's the only girl in her group, which ordinarily wouldn't be an issue at all. DD's cool.
But the way the camp works there are a bunch of camps that occupy this big field, they're all run by the same company, so all on the same schedule, etc. The camp closest to them is a cheerleading camp. As you'd expect, it's all girls. They're slightly older than DD (who's 6, I'd say they're 8-9-10 maybe), and all very much dressed in pink and glitter and ribbons in their hair. DD goes to camp in stretchy pants and sneakers.
I don't think she's having a problem per se, but I do see the way they interact with her (there's a playground near the camps' field, where it seems everybody goes after pickup for a few minutes). They kind of side-eye her. I don't think there's anything to be done about it; they're a cohesive group because they're in camp together, and she doesn't interact with them during camp time.
...it just makes me sad that she's having to deal with this sort of crap so young.
eta: it can't be THAT bad, as she said she wants to do her camp again next year. So there's that.

Well, you know how I feel about this sort if thing.
Just keep talking to her and offering support and raving about the awesomeness of sports camp and doing something a bit different.

If she's not worried about it, then you shouldn't be. That being said, there's nothing wrong with a rough and tumble girl wearing ribbons in her hair if she asks.

terps - can I ask for more information? What made you have his A&T checked?
B has been waking in the middle of the night frequently. Probably 3-4 times a week. It's a newer thing - started back in June. But H and I are dying a slow death from exhaustion because we can't figure out what the problem is.
