Dude I judge getting pregnant again during that first year. This sentiment started a huge board war/implosion on my BMB board. So I don't think you are all that flammable here.

This is pretty flameful - but my SO just pushed back the date of his USMLE step one exam from Tuesday to Friday, and I'm pissed because a) I don't think the extra time will help him, 2) I had a bunch of fun things planned for us and with friends that he hasn't seen in weeks due to the exam and now I have to cancel and 3) I skipped a work conference in San Francisco to spend a few days with him since he goes back into the hospital for the start of orientation/3rd year next week. I know its important that he does well, but I'm still irritated.
I thought less than 6 clears your vag and not your uterus.
I got clearance at 4 weeks. They usually do the postpartum visit at 6 weeks, but I was in there for an incision check up that they accidentally scheduled as a postpartum visit, so my doctor went ahead and checked since she had extra time. I assume she checked my uterus and not vagina since I had a c-section.
Flameworthy confession: I've been stalking the outfit of the day posts around the forum, and I don't understand why some people post in them. Some of the outfits are great, but some of them are just totally bland and unremarkable.
LOL!! I totally stalk these. Although there are a few people who seem to always bring their A game and I do like the outfits. Some of them are a little head-scratch-worthy. Like really, khaki pants and cardigan? Boooring. It also makes me wish we did it on this board because I know ya'll are probably styling wherever you are. Sadly, my phone does not have a camera. Yes, it is THAT old. So I wouldn't be able to participate. Though I think if we started to doing it, that might be enough motivation for me to get one.
I would especially want to see what Smo and Whitewolf and a handful of others were wearing on any given day. I would add Alecia to that list because I've met her and she's super cute, but if I wanted to know what she was wearing, I would just have another lunch with her (which we should do BTW), and so don't really need OOTD posts for that.
I'd love it if we did an OOTD post on CE&P, because I'll bet some of us look smashing. I'd participate it in it some days, but other days I totally phone it in and would not.
And yes, I wish more overweight people would post in those, too!
I keep driving by my new house and I'm so excited about it and my new neighborhood! The community center, park and pool are about 2 blocks from me, and there are kids and MILFs all over the place. It's looking more and more like I'll be a S/WAHM starting in July, so I'm really hoping Ben and I can make some new friends.
I'm jealousE of you. We need to save up for a few more months before moving on a place, and I am SO mentally already in another living room right now.
Vent as a follow up to this post... I have a friend on FB who, whenever mommy wars stuff comes up, likes to post things like "and those moms who don't work but still send their kids to school shouldn't even have an opinion on this." Well, guess what, I do... She may or may not be referring to me but I do sometimes get the side eye from other women about the fact that I SAH and my kids go to school or full time MDO.
Well, here's the thing--- I worked a crap-ton of hours for very little money. My husband is a partner in a law firm but has way more flexibility than I ever did. My work situation was not very family friendly. Still, I never wanted to be a SAHM. The idea of being with my kids all day, everyday was not appealing to me as much as I love them. I thought I was going back to work up until a month after DS#1 was born but we started to seriously think about what we would do with no family closer than 4 hours away and realized me leaving my job was the best answer. And now I have to hear about it from people. Mind your own damn business.
If I were a SAHM, my kids would totally go to school. We wouldn't have a cleaning lady and our cars would never go over on oil changes, meals would be perfectly cooked and I wouldn't rely on the crock pot so much. But I would NOT spend the 12 hours my husband is sometimes gone from the house, alone with an infant and a toddler. That wouldn't be good for anyone.
Thats why I say I'm a trophy wife and not a SAHM. My kid goes to school!

Heh. You could see me in my gray pants and black top today, my gray pants and different black top tomorrow, my black pants and gray top Wed....
I am so fucking sick of my life. I feel like it's the same dang thing every day. I need to get a job. I am terrified to get a job, which is hampering my efforts to get a job. I can't stand the thought that I'm dependent on my H for everything (I know, I know, but it would still be nice to feel like I'm contributing to the household. Especially since he is picking up as much OT has he can).
I'm bored. I'm bored with the health bullshit, I'm bored with the shit I do at circuit court, I'm bored with my day to day, I'm bored of my mom's fucking constant whining....and I can't see past any of that boredom to when things will be different. Blah.

I'm irrationally pissed about the lack of variety and choice for boys clothes and shoes vs girls. I've been trying to find summer-y dress shoes for my kids for over a month and there is not one single store in my entire metro area that carries them. And definitely no store with 2 shoes in the same size. Boys have the choice of: gym shoes, sandals, crocs and black winter-y dress shoes. That's it. Then I turn around and see sixteenbajillion rows of all kinds of shoes for girls. It's ridiculous. Over the weekend I was at the mall and one store there literally had 12 racks of girls clothes and ONE for boys. And that one rack also sold board games so it wasn't even a full rack. If I had a travel soapbox I would have pulled it out and started yelling like a crazy drunk rapture preacher.

Was this random enough for everyone?
Also, I just got a call from PTS's school that they think she scratched her eye with the corner of a book and they want me to come and pick her up because it won't stop watering. Am I right that this is complete bullshit?
Aw, you're sweet. And yes, we def need to to lunch again soon. I'm working a conference this week and then being sent to LA on Weds next week, but maybe beginning of next week?
And yea, that's some bullshit. I got a call from DC last week because DD stubbed her toe and it was bleeding. I'm like uhh, do you guys have some bandaids....? ha.
My random is that this morning in our weekly office meeting, I mentioned that I was out sick on Friday and needed to reschedule a meeting, and my boss piped in and was like "yes we're both sick with the same thing, but don't anyone get any ideas- I was in Madison this weekend!!". I'm just sitting there like WTF. Did he just say that in front of the entire office? Yea. He did.

what does that even mean? I mean ... was he quashing possible rumors? I'm drawing a blank here. Even though, it's obviously something that shouldn't be said. Holy awkward.

I get irrationally rage-y about boys' clothing. Actually boy issues in general. I am super defensive about boys.
My pet peeve related to boys' clothing is when it's totally obvious the moms spend $$$$$$ on their daughter's clothing and the little girl is dressed to the nines while the boy is in stained clothes that don't fit. It drives me insane. It also drives me insane on my kids' clothing boards when moms post stuff like, "oh I couldn't spend that much on my son's clothes! I just buy him stuff on sale at walmart" while spending $100+ on a dress for their pretty, pretty princess (and not just once, like FREQUENTLY spending that much on clothes for the daughter). OMG, it makes me want to stab someone. But boards like that are heavily moderated, so it's not worth the hassle of it all. It won't change anyone's mind there anyway.
Caden - I bought Jackson a pair of tan Sperry topsiders for dressy wear this summer. I got them at a local department store (Dillards).
people who say "you got me sick" drive me fucking NUTS! Even when my H does it. I'll have some random sinus infection caused by my myriad of allergies (diagnosed by a doctor) .... he turns up with a scratchy throat for a day or two and suddenly I've "gotten him sick"

Maybe this goes in the heat thread, but it's supposed to be over 100 here today, and I'm jonesing for soup for lunch because my office is so damn cold.

Ha! That's exactly what I "settled on" for my boys. I was going for something dressier, but when I realized I'd have to spend $60-80 for shoes they'd wear once I turned to that style, which they can wear a lot. We don't have Dillards here, and I had to drive clear across town to two stores in order to get 2 size 6s. Then I get home and the shoes are so damn narrow my kids had muffin top feet. So now I'm trying to get 2 size 7s, which means I either drive all over creation again or buy them online. I picked online and thunderbolts will be called down from the skies if these don't fit. :@

Vent: DD is cutting her 2 yr molars and is a miserable which led to her waking me up at 5 the last 2 mornings (DH tried to help but she wanted mamma and we had company so I just took over). This wouldn't be so bad except my dad was visiting for the first time in almost 2 yrs so I couldn't crash early and was up later then usual, and because DD usually sleeps 11 hrs I'm not used to the lack of sleep.
Confession: I've let her watch more tv today then probably any 1 week combined prior to today.

I would be shocked if you got clearance for pregnancy (rather than just sex) at 6 weeks post partum if you had a c-section. Usually, with c-sections the recommendation as at least a year and ideally 18 mos.
Oh no I thought we were just talking about sex. We weren't supposed to start TTC until 6 months at the absolute earliest, but ideally 18 months. We started TTC without meds at 6 months knowing that it probably wouldn't happen and started IF treatments around 18 months.

Don't get me started on "the man cold." I have no patience for that shit.
We could start a whole new thread on that bullshit. I've had it.
