I registered for a diaper genie which I received at my shower. My friend told me it was horrible and everytime she opened it the room stunk for 30 minutes. I am thinking of returning it but don't know which one to get. The ubbi diaper pail seems like a pain in the ass to open. I can't imagine holding an infant and unlocking it and sliding it with one hand everytime I need to throw a diaper out.
I am now thinking about getting the arm & hammer pail. Anyone use any of these and like or dislike them?

Reviews that say 'it smells horrible when you open it!' make me LOL just because, well yeah, it's dirty diapers, what do you expect!!
I just bought the BRU diaper pail, it was a deep discount a couple days ago. I'm going to put those febreeze clips in there to help with the smell, and the bonus is that it takes regular trash bags instead of expensive refills. I like you can open it with your feet and it's more closed than the basic trash can I was just going to get at first. Our garage with our trash can isn't far away, so the diaper pail is really just helping me not have to go out each time I change a diaper. Major poopy ones will just go there right away to avoid smelling too much.

Truth. Like the thing is magically supposed to keep all stench in even when it's open. I don't know ANY garbage pail that does that.
We have a diaper genie. It works fine. If it starts to get stinky - guess what! We remove the tube o' diapers and throw them in the garbage can in the garage. Walla.
I had heard the diaper trash cans weren't worth the price. This one looks nice, and I got some liners. But I still think rule will be, ok for pee diapers but poo diapers go right outside to the trash cans!
We used the Diaper Genie for a while. I got sick of paying for the inserts and I'm apparently an idiot and could never successfully use a regular garbage bag in them, so I just resorted to a trash can eventually. However, Target now sells an Up&Up brand insert for the DG that's cheaper, so I'm going to try it again with this baby, at least early on.
I never really had a problem with it stinking up the room. I mean, when I'd take the bag out to throw it away, it would totally stink, but like someone else said, it's a bag full of dirty diapers.
If I wasn't doing CD I would be using our regular trash can. Personally, I think diaper pails are a huge waste of money.
Because 1 of our dogs has beagle in her, we have to get a good, tall trash can (found a simple human type one at HomeGoods) instead of just a wetbag I would much rather that than deal with her eating dirty diapers though!
Oh, I had a beagle as a kid. She was nuts haha
I am using a cheap plastic trash can with one of the washable liners in it for the CDs, so no judgement here I just think something that's a glorified trash can is a huge waste for disposable diapers.
