I have a few options actually!
1) Take a position working reception at a staffing agency. 2) Take a position as a CSR with the staffing agency (interviewing potential temp employees, etc.). 3) Possibly have a position with a company that produces knock-offs as a designer.
EEK!
All options are a pay cut, but if I don't have to deal with my coworker OR my boss (in a professional manner, I'm still a client) then WHEE! #3 is a possibility because the person I spoke to (which is actualy the wife of the owner) may not have the funds to hire me at my minimum salary requirements.
I'm a little scared because of the pay cut, but also because my hours will be longer (8:30 - 5:30 p.m.) but I'll have a guaranteed hour lunch (I usually don't get to take my 30 minute lunch now).

Yeah, #3 sounds AMAZING, but if they can't meet my minimum, then I'm kind of stuck on that. Plus, she said they are currently in their busy time and I'm not entirely sure I would feel right a) getting a new job in the middle of their peak time and b) then taking off 2 weeks because of my surgery.
If I'm offered, I will definitely be seriously considering one of the other positions. I just have to figure out if a $2/hour pay cut and working a half hour later with a longer commute (by about 10 minutes) is worth it.

In my experience, being happy with what you do tends to off-set the money. Sure, you'll have to find ways to cut back or budget, but being happy is what's more important in the long run.

Thanks guys. I know I'd be happier not in my current position, but that extra 40 minutes a day is 40 minutes less with the kiddos. I also know that, since this is a staffing agency I met with today, if the positions don't work out there or with the other company, I can continue to work where I am (and my boss gave dumb coworker 30 days to get her shit together - I'm holding him to it because she is too far behind on the learning curve and messing way too much up) and wait until something comes up that works better through their agency.
