Confession: I use the "grind" function on my blender. (it's a good quality one). No has b*tched about my coffee being too bitter yet. It seems to work great.
Let me know what you get through and if it works...I should probably invest one of these years.
We have a Baratza burr grinder. It wasn't in the < $25 range though. Trust, I am not the coffee snob in the house, Calvin is.
Whatever makes him happy.
I am not so much interested in the coffee snob angle of it but that fact that I realized yesterday that a. decent coffee is much less expensive at Costco and b. most of it is whole bean.
@justdairy, that is interesting about the blender. Hmmm. My hesitation is that lugging the blender out sounds a lot messier than a coffee grinder, and I am a pretty lazy person. LOL!

Ha! Trust me, I'm probably lazier than you in the morning! I grind a blender full at a time then dump into an airtight container. It doesn't make coffee stale or anything, at least I don't think. So really it's only like every other week. I buy those giant Sams/Costco bags too...it's all pretty great.

I recommend the Braun coffee grinder. Not the round one- but the one with the separate chambers for beans and the grinds. You can change the size of grind, and it measures out by serving size. I've had mine ~ 20 years!
