We started doing this a few weeks ago, but now it's all the time. He will hide on the other side of the table and peek at me while pooping. He sometimes sits in the middle of the room and hides his face and poops. It's hilarious!
Ooh! That's good! When you decide to potty train kids who hide to poop tend to train easy! Go Andrew! LOL!
Really? I thought we were supposed to praise them for pooping so they wouldn't hide? Fuck parenting. So confusing.
I know this shouldn't make me laugh, but it did. From what I've always understood the desire for privacy is an early indicator of toilet readiness. Maybe I'm just crazy?
My nephews all did this, too, and I thought it was adorable!
@tambcat- I think what you are doing is still good. You don't want kids to be afraid of their poop b/c when they toilet train, that's often the hardest thing to get them to do. From my understanding, getting them to pee on the toilet is usually easier than getting them to poop. When we change Emmy's diaper, we have her look at her poop and she thinks it is funny!
