I need a quick recap of Longchamp bags, as I have been seeing them in lots of places. They are French, right? I have this strong association of them being really popular in the 1980s, and so I find seeing them now a bit odd.
Do you have one and like it? Do you use it as a work tote? Is there any internal organization at all? Given how thin they are (they're nylon, right?), I think for me it would be awkward because you'd see the outline of all the things I was carrying. Does this bother anyone else?
I don't think they ever really declined in popularity. I remember people talking about them on F&B and the purse forum 7 years ago, and I had no idea what they were, since it's not a commonly found brand in my area.
A friend of mine (holla to mfluder) picked one up for me while she was in Europe I've really been enjoying it. Mine isn't over-stuffed, so you can't see the outline of anything I'm carrying. It is nylon, but it's coated on the inside, so it's not thin like windbreaker material, or whatever. Since it rains everyday during the summer in Louisiana, it's been a perfect summer tote. It keeps my stuff dry, and I don't have to worry about it getting ruined like I do with my leather bags.
I'm considering getting something like a Purseket to give me more organization inside.
I have several and love them. I have 2 leather bags and a few nylon, including one large luggage tote that I checked through on a flight home from Italy and still looked new.

I also don't think they've gone out of style - at least when I was in Europe every third girl was carrying one. My husband was so annoyed at me pointing them out (mainly because then he started pointing them out lol).
It's a causal item, but I still think good for summer work. No internal organization though - I kind of want to start carrying things in little pods (like little makeup bags for different things), since the purse organizers just didn't seem to work for me.

I have the OG and while I freaking love it to travel with, I think it's too large for an everyday commute. I think the OMG would be perfect for commuting. I do tend to favor large bags in general though.
Word of warning, I tend to pack mine up pretty full for work, and after about 6-8 months of use I can see a bit of wear at the bottom corners of the bag. I have seen this happen to other women as well.
I really don't understand why they don't reinforce the edges. I have a bag like this, all worn at the edges, yet the rest of it is in perfect condition. It wouldn't take much to reinforce them.
