So I'm going to a good friend's wedding this weekend and I'm having a horrible time finding a dress. Shopping has not been fun - I've lost a good majority of the baby weight, but I'm still...uh...bulge-y in various places. Not a fan.
I did find two dresses I like but I don't feel like either is perfect. The first is a black pencil dress type number with some lace around the neckline. I feel pretty hot in it (which is shocking) but I'm worried it might be a bit cleavage-y for the occasion, plus I always go back and forth on wearing black to a wedding, especially with a daytime ceremony. The other is a little looser fitting and a silver color, but I worry that the silver is too close to white and I don't want to be "that girl."
If it helps, the ceremony is at 2:00 pm at a church, and the reception is at 6:00 pm at an Irish social hall. My friend is very conservative/wholesome in both dress and action (and so are her friends, as far as I know) so it's not going to be any sort of wild party or anything, but should be fun.
Here are a couple pics (pardon my messy house, undone hair and glasses...sheesh). So what say you? Black or silver?
I also love the black one! You look amazing in it! Question though, are you still nursing and if so how full were you when you tried the dress on, and are you bringing the baby? My milk jugs grow significantly when I don't feed or pump for a few hours so that may be something to keep in mind, comfort wise. I have ridiculously huge boobs though so that is always my #1 concern when shopping.

I am still nursing. I really struggled to try to find a dress that would be easy to nurse in, and clearly failed. Ha! But I did try it on right before I was about to feed her, so I was about as full as I usually let myself get. We'll be leaving her with my mom during the ceremony, which is just a few minutes away from where she'll be, so I'm hoping to nurse before I leave for the ceremony and then again before the reception. Not sure yet if we'll be bringing her to the reception, but if not, I'm prepared to step out to pump for comfort if need be. I'll just have to basically disrobe to do so, ha! Awkward, but whatevs. Not sure how to avoid it.
Thanks everyone, it sounds like black is the clear winner!
