Friday: I have to bake and decorate a cake today. I also need to mow the lawn in the back yard and clean for Izzie's birthday party tomorrow. I need to wash and oil the other saddle that I haven't worked on. I will do an early movie night with the kids and try to get everyone to bed (including myself) at a decent hour.
Saturday: J has to go in to work for a couple hours in the morning so I will be doing the last minute prep and cleaning for the party. The party starts at 3:00 so that's what we'll be doing for the rest of the day.
Sunday: I'm enlisting the kids to help me with a final sweep of the back lot (I really need to come up with something better to call it) to clear trash/toys/big rocks/last of the weeds to prep for the horse. I was going to meet the transport guy to pick the horse up but think we will just wait at home for delivery. I will also be prepping for the week before the horse gets here.
I am working tomorrow, then prepping for B's 6th birthday party!
25 people coming to our house on Sunday! Last year's party was her first ever, I think she has built this up in her head a bit and isn't let down.
Party is on Sunday-- how soon can I make the cake? It's a chocolate layer cake-- with strawberry cool whip frosting-- shaped like a hive. What should we do for filling? Strawberry frosting? Strawberry cool whip?
Tonight: Out to dinner to celebrate L being done with her work contract. She's been working crazy hours the last few weeks.
Tomorrow: there was some discussion about going to the kids' school to help with tours in the AM. If not, L will take the kids to the gym while I study. No idea the rest of the day. Movie? Pool? Who knows.
Sunday: No idea about the morning, but that afternoon, we're going to an employe picnic for my work. Last year it was amazing (carnival rides, an ambulance and helicopter to tour, multiple bounce houses, mini golf, a playground, lunch, and all of the cotton candy and snow cones you can eat! Hope it is as good this year. I was trying to talk L into going to the county fair, but she hates the fair.
Monday: I am off. I think I will go with L to finish up working on the kids' school library and perhaps out to lunch. I really need to finish up studying since the exam is next week. Oof.

E is at her dad's for the weekend. A found out this morning that she has the weekend off.
Tonight: A told me there will be a naked woman in my bed when I get home from work. Probably because she's napping, but ya know, it's still a good thing. We will probably grab dinner and brews at the taphouse nearby, maybe have a fire in the fire pit and/or spend the night cuddled up on the couch watching TV.
Saturday: Possibly go to the last derby bout of the season in the evening. Aside from that, no set plans.
Sunday: Maybe see a movie? Do nothing but relax? I'm looking forward to some time with A. It's been too long since we've had a weekend together.
I would make the cake on Saturday. I think strawberry buttercream, strawberry cream cheese or even just strawberry jam would be a great filling.
Here is the cream cheese filling/frosting recipe that I use, just add chopped fresh strawberries or as much strawberry jam as you like to it. This makes enough to cover an entire cake so you may want to halve it if you use it.
8 ounces of real butter, 8 ounces of cream cheese, and 2 lbs of powdered sugar. Cream the softened butter and cream cheese until very creamy, then slowly add the ps. You don't need vanilla or other flavoring unless you want. Add liquid (milk) ONLY if it needs it...most of the time it doesn't.
Here is an easy and creamy whipped chocolate ganache that I like to fill cakes with, the cherries can be substituted or completely omitted.
