but my dogs seem to give me so many panic attacks that I don't believe it.
I work from home and took the dogs outside around 8:30 before starting work. I go back up to my office and start working on some reports and the dogs lay down and fall asleep in there.
I look down at Zoey about an hour later and her eye is really swollen. I call her name and she looks up at me - both of her eyes are really puffy (almost closed) and her muzzle is swollen too. I wouldn't be exaggerating if I said that her lips were almost an inch thick from the swelling. I check her tongue and breathing (fine) and jump in the car to go to the vet for a benadryl and steroid shot.
We guess she was stung by something - nothing else new around the house or in her food and she didn't get into anything.
I was in tears when I saw her but thankfully she was acting fine which helped me. She was pretty psyched to get to go on a mid-day car ride.

My Zoey's eyelid puffed right up the first month we had were when she got stung by God only knows what in the backyard! Talk about scary! I was calling around to vet's trying to see what to do and no one would tell me without bringing her in. It wasn't her whole face though.
I'm so glad your Zoey is okay! They do like to keep us on our toes, don't they!
