I'm running a 5K tomorrow night after work (7pm). It's supposed to be 96 degrees tomorrow, and while I'm sure it will cool off some by race time, it's still going to be pretty dang hot. What's the best way to prepare for a race like this? I tend to chug a lot of water when I run normally, but I need to be sure to not drink too much right before race time because I will (TMI) pee myself. Any advice to make sure I am nice and hydrated pre-race?
Drink a lot of water all day, not just right before you run, and maybe carry a small water bottle with you? I had a 4 mile race this weekend and it was in the 80s, so I just grabbed one of my fuel belt water bottles and carried it since it was only 4 miles. It was perfect.
Oh, and I forgot to add, this is a "water bottle free race", as in, no plastic bottles, nothing disposable. I'm thinking maybe I need to run out and grab a fuel belt maybe. It just seems silly for a race as short as a 5K, but damn, 96 degrees is HOT! LOL
I would go pick up a regular, reusable water bottle that you can carry easily! That is really hot, and I bet the bottle will come in handy again in the future!
I love the idea of a water bottle free race with nothing disposable. Make sure as well to have whoever is spectating for you have a reusable water bottle for you at the end as well, I am sure you will want that ASAP!

If you don’t have anything already, I'd still just bring a disposable water bottle and make a point not to throw it out of the course. What do they expect if it’s going to be that hot?
Ditto pp’s suggestion of adding some sort of electrolytes to your water.
If you bring a bottle of water (disposable), just don't throw it out on the course. With a race that hot, it would be irresponsible of them to not let you take it.
