I love lurking on the Baby Showers board

Have you lurked on that board? Some of the posts are really funny and a lot of posters think that they should get a pretty pretty princess day even if it means that they have to break about 100 rules of etiquette.

I used to lurk on TIP a lot to watch some of the train wrecks over there. I don't mean the regulars, but the people who come for advice and then get all hurt or give even more details about all the evidence they have their DHs are cheating on them but are in total denial. ("I know I found a thong in his car and a text from his beautiful co-worker thanking him for the great sex, but he assured me all she did was change in his car after work and the autocorrect on her phone wrote "sex" when what she meant was "meeting." All I wanted to know from you was whether I should wear red or black to his company picnic! Stop being mean to poor DH! You don't know him!")

For some reason, lurking on the sex board skeeved me out. I always thought it was a little creepy that each post had like 4,000 views and 5 replies. For that reason alone I don't think I ever would have posted there.

That is true but it also reinforces the idea that the States shouldn't be cutting their sex ed programs. Some of the questions people post are crazy.

And I thought the freakshows and their goddamn baby shower stories were bad on my month board ... until I saw that there was an entire board devoted just to them.

I don't get it. We do baby showers sometimes, everyone except the mother drinks wine, nobody makes invitations, there are no gift registries and opening gifts is a lot of the older people with grown children saying "wow, I had no idea you would need a frog-bathtub to bathe a baby!" Surprisingly enough, maybe it's the alcohol, but nobody ever complains about anything they get or whether the napkins matched!

My parents clearly failed me since I was potty trained without a party.
