I lost about 15lbs last year by dieting and exercising. I have not been doing that great in the past months. I haven't gained any weight but I just haven't lost more. I need to lose at least 20lbs more.
I take tennis lessons on the weekends. I have been doing it for about 9 months. In addition to playing tennis, they do some cardio and have us going to the soccer field and run.
Anyway, I am aware that I need to do more during the week so I thought since I don't have much time, I would try the 30 day Shred. I started the first level today and I just didn't feel it was that hard.
So my question is, should I do something that I find challenging or should I just stick to it as it is?
Do you have anything else that you can recommend?
I have struggled with weight my whole life and I promised myself that when I turn 30, I should be feeling pretty amazing about my self. I know it sounds silly, but giving myself a deadline is working some how. I know I'm not losing everything I want by August, but I know that making changes and being healthy makes me feel good.
I'm very active but weight lifting makes a huge difference in my body, so I'd definitely recommend that. When I hit a plateau, changing up the intensity of my work outs really helps. For lifting I like the book the new rules of lifting for women. I know how hard it is to struggle with losing even a few pounds.
Sorry if I sound like a broken record but I swear by HIIT ( High Intensity Interval Training) on the treadmill and strength training. A book I highly recommend is the Body Fat Solution by Tom Venuto: www.amazon.com/gp/product/1583333290/ref=oh_details_o04_s01_i01

If it doesn't feel hard to you then you need to do something harder. If your workout seems easy it isn't doing much for you. Do something that kicks your ass, while being fun at the same time
The 30DS is great, so is no more trouble zones, which is a little more intense.
The only thing I would recommend is maybe adding more strength/resistance/plyometric type exercises to increase muscle mass. You could also XP on Health & Fitness, they have GREAT tips!
Thanks for the replies and suggestions! I was thinking on move up to the second level and see if that was more challenging.
I never do strength training so I will give that a try and see if that works better. I remember back when I was young (hehe), I did strength training and it was great.
I find it hard to find the time to go to the gym so I would like to do it at home. What equipment am I supposed to get? I only have 5lbs dumbbells so I'm not sure if I should be lifting something heavier.

The great thing about the book I suggested I was able to work out at home with dumbells ( I have 5, 8, 10 or 12 ( I forget) and 15 lbs). When it came to doing triceps extensions laying down (as the book suggested) I had a hard time finding something to lay on but you can do those standing up as well or buy a stepper and use that to lay on, I just never bought one...
