Specifically, your every day plates and bowls? Bonus points if you PIP.
Our kitchen reno is starting soon and H is insisting we replace our $.89 Christmas Tree shop dinner plates. I'm not arguing! Right now I'm thinking plain old white from Crate and Barrel, maybe even Ikea, I just don't know about their quality. I also need all new dish towels because I know I'm not going to want all this mismatched schwag in my fancy new kitchen.
Mine are Denby. They've held up really well so far. We handwash because that's our only option, but we definitely aren't gentle with them. They are heavy.
The everyday plates are from Pottery Barn, their PB White collection. I liked them better before they changed manufacturers, but I think there have been quality issues. They're good but not amazing.
My parents have C&B plates (white squares) and love them. Except cutlery doesn't stay on those plates very well.

Ohh, upgrades. How exciting.
Mine are white China with a platinum edge from Bed Bath and Beyond. I also have a set that looks almost exactly the same but with a white flower border. I got them at a thrift store.

Mine were from Pfaltzgraff. They were nice, sturdy stoneware rather than delicate china type dishes. I bought them with money from our wedding, and chose them because they had an outlet store near the house where I could buy a single plate or bowl if one was broken. I really liked them, but decided they were replacable so they stayed at the house when I left. they've since closed their stores, but they can still be ordered online. I had the Rio Pattern.
Mine are Pfaltzgraff too, I had the summer breeze pattern when I lived on my own and we inherited my mother's grapevine pattern (that she never used) when we bought our house last year. We were not going to argue with a free set of dishes!
Mine are from Mikasa. I registered for 2 sets of what is shown in that picture. They are 4 years old as of August 1 and they have held up really well. They came from Macys. The only thing that I would change is I wish they were solid white.
Corelle from ShopKo although they have Corelle stores as well. I love my dishes. My parents have had the same brand for their (almost) 42 year long marriage. Very few chips and breaks. My dishes have had no chips or breaks but I've only had them 4 years.

Mine are from Target. They were the super cheap back to college dishes they do every year.II'm really bored with them and I keep hoping they're going to fall apart but there all still in really good shape. Waahhh.... I want new dishes.
Thanks everyone! I forgot about Macy's, etc, but I don't want the mugs. I need a billion plates, fewer bowls and no mugs, which is why I thought I'd go a la carte. Macy's does have some good sales though.
Mikasa in Italian Countryside, courtesy of my first marriage. They're OK. Some plates are chipped on the edges. If I were to replace, I'd get a really nice set of white dishes so I can mix and match dessert/salad plates. I'm not crazy about the Italian Countryside bowls - I prefer small and deep rather than wide and shallow (heh, I swear I'm talking about bowls here).
Mine were bought a la carte from Macys. I like that they have a huge selection of dish types and sizes. I would like to get a couple more serving items.
I don't like white. I have some with brown rims and some with stripey rims and I mix and match.
They're very durable and sturdy, but I want to replace them. We were gifted 8 boxed sets, so we just got what was in the box.
I have no use for those tiny mugs, I don't like the bowls (too wide and flat, I like these bowls better) and I don't really like the colors either.
We'll likely get fiestware when we replace them, but we'll get the individual pieces instead of the set and I'll pick a better color.
I used to have Pfaltzgraff too. The fiestaware is comparable to Pfaltzgraff in quality and weight.
XH got my brand new fiestaware peacock, aqua and cobalt. It was all so pretty!
That combination would be pretty.
The peacock doesn't go very well with the ivory. The ivory is one of my least favorite of the colors they offer (I don't really like the bright red either).
I just have to go into a store and see which combination I like the best.
And four of these: OK, well, I can't find them now. They're along the same line as the others.
Here's a little backstory for you: H gave me the eight plates for Christmas. They are absolutely, totally not my style at all. But he was so excited and so proud of himself (they can be our collector plates! We can hand them down to our kids!) that I didn't have the heart to take them back. We had some black & white Corelle (that we still use, especially for a toddler who drops things a lot), but these have held up really well as everyday dinnerware. He got a wicked good price on them too during a Christmas sale.
My Mom after 20 years finally got her fiesta ware. I got everyone in the family to buy a different color one Christmas. They all thought I was insane, My mom was so excited she cried. I love opening her cupboard when I visit. It is so cheerful. My Dad loves it because it makes gift giving easier.

This story is adorable. I love doing things like this for my mom. She never says what she wants and always buys everyone else presents.
