Oh, and two-story rooms. How do you clean the 2nd story? The dust must be awful
This is mostly in older homes but we keep finding bathroom and kitchen "vents" that don't actually vent anywhere. They are just fans. Those bathrooms inevitably have mildew problems and the kitchens have nasty grease buildup.
Man. No one every come to our house. We have a ranch style house, its dark, we have carpet, old solid wood cabinets, old hardware. Only thing we have that I like is the driveway is in the back so the garage looks like an extra room.
I guess I don't like master bathrooms without a bath tub Small bedrooms Small closets ..pretty much my entire house
Garage doors at the front of the house. I don't want gigantic garage doors to be the main focus of my facade. Hate hate hate them.
ETA: Funny all the hate for detached garages! I would also never want an attached garage. I love my detached garage which is in back of the house.
This. It's my #1 complaint about our house
This is my #1 complaint about my house as well, and my biggest pet peeve about houses in general. On the other hand, I love love love our location and the houses in this neighborhood without a big ugly garage in front either don't have garages at all or are on tiny tiny lots (~1700 sq ft) and have a garage onto an alley in the back. We back up onto a wetland wildlife preserve rather than an alley, so I think it's worth the trade off.
I prefer for garages to be in the basement, though obviously that only works for certain kinds of lots.

I can't stand it when the front door is not centered between the porch posts. The door doesn't have to be in the center of the porch, mind you, but it should not have a support post directly in front of it. I feel the same way, to a lesser degree, about front porch windows.
I don't like attached garages, completely open concept houses, dark wood cabinets in the kitchen, mis matched wood floor, Mediterranean styles houses, converted garages..I could go on and on.
Yes! Yes yes yes yes YES!!! They are starting to do this shit in the neighborhood just north of us (which is identical to ours) up on the side that is across the street from the multimillion dollar homes suburb. WHY? I would be beyond pissed if someone tore down the brick, 1960's ranch next door to us to build a brand new, giant, $900,000+ house.

I love my house except for not having an entry area. My front door is basically right next to the couch where we sit while hanging around. It feels like I have no privacy and can't hide when people knock effectively.
Bathroom carpet sounds horrible. I wouldn't be able to tolerate that for long. Or in the kitchen. Because I am messy in the kitchen.

This is the one thing I feel like we compromised on in our house too. You walk right into our living/dining area with no transition at all.
What on earth is a self-rimming sink? It sounds dirty.
This I think?
Yes. The kind of sink that sits above the counter, so you have to clean around the rim and you can't just wipe messes straight into the sink, like you can with an undermount. I hate having a self-rimming sink.
