Do any of you have luggage you love? We have a ton of suitcases, but ... eh. The one we have that is wonderful is a Jeep hardcase with four wheels, but I can't find it on Amazon or on Walmart.com anymore. I'm looking for something that will make our lives in the airport/train station with two kids, two car seats and possible four pieces of luggage less of a living hell.
I love my Samsonite LIFT. It's really lightweight and the spinner wheels are awesome.
I'm going to see if I can find the website where I got it from. My 29" was $140, which was much lower than I could find anywhere else.
ETA: Luggage Online dot com. I was a little wary since I'd never heard of them, but their prices are awesome, they ship fast, and my suitcase showed up in great shape. I'd check them out regardless of what suitcase you wind up with.
I love our REI luggage. We have a 'tech beast rolling duffel' in large and carry-on sizes, and a 'wheely beast rolling duffel.' We've had them for a few years (and they get a lot of use) and they look brand-new. They are a little pricey, but we got all of them on sale (not at the same time) - if you are an REI member and/or sign up for emails they have regular sales.
chicago, thank you so much for the website! I'm in suitcase heaven. @travelbug1210, are duffels better than hardcases?
I prefer them now. I always used regular square luggage in the past - the duffels seem to have more room (maybe because there's some give and you can stuff them if need be) and they don't get banged up as much. I also like having the option of different pockets on the inside and outside. These just have a very durable feel to them.
I have a Samsonite B-Lite. It's replacing another lightweight softside Samsonite that Air France or KLM ripped a wheel off of. That bag made it across the Atlantic 33 times and was still in fine shape, so I'm pretty sure the new one will hold up well.
However, speaking of duffels as an easier-to-carry option, they make some rolling duffels that have actual backpack straps that stow in the base. I bought one recently to use for trips that are in between true backpacking situations and long-term suitcase stays. That might be an option worth looking into. (I can't recommend my bag in particular, because I haven't put it to the test yet.)

We have a set of Samsonite spinners that we like and that have held up really well. I like being able to have multi-direction motion to maneuver crowded spaces.
My H also has a giant duffel from L.L. Bean that he bought for our safari a few years ago and he loves it. It's held up well to quite a bit of abuse over the past few years.
