Any issues, problems, or vents? I didn't feel good for a few days so I lost a running day. Bummer.
Highlights from last week? I realized last week I was landing on the outside of my foot on the injured leg. Who knows how long I'd been doing it. I suspect I started doing it to favor my leg and I just got used to it. Focusing on normal foot placement made my calf and everything in general feel so much better. Yesterday's run was much smoother. The most aggravating thing is I remember watching my gait analysis and pointing out that my foot looked like it was landing on the edge and the guy dismissed it. He never let me run again so I forgot about it until last week's run. Baby steps.

week 3 of Hal Higdon Int. 1/2 plan - it's the week that includes a 5k race, which I won't be doing in an official capacity. Actually this easier week works out great because we have my brothers wedding this weekend!
Any issues, problems, or vents?
The heat has returned and general quad soreness. It's hanging around. I guess just the increase in speed and mileage.
Highlights from last week?
My 7 miler went pretty well on Saturday. Also, so far I've done all training runs as scheduled!

Highlights from last week?
4 miles for the first time! My longest run on my plan thus far. Also bought new running shoes. And it didn't happen last week, but so far I've raised $275 towards my goal of $500 for St.Jude. I am running as a St.Jude Hero, so I've pledged to raise at least $500 and all of the money raised by Heroes goes directly to the hospital (vs. covering the cost of putting on the race). As of yesterday, $1.8 million dollars has been raised--that is what it takes to run St. Jude for 1 day!

What are you training for? Date? Ahalf marathon on September 28?!?
What is your training schedule for this week? I'm going to run a bunch. I did 6.2 of hills yesterday, 5 today... I'll probably run on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday (long 9-10 miles), and maybe Sunday. ETA: I will probably also do yoga on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday
Any issues, problems, or vents? My schedule is kind of wonky this week with a lot of super early and super late meetings, so that may take a toll on mileage later in the week. I usually try to front load with 8 miles on Monday and Tuesday, but that just wasn't happening this week.
Highlights from last week? I got new bright yellow LLL Speed shorts!
What are you training for? Date? My first 5k - Color Me Rad - 9/21 and just generally getting my butt in better shape.
What is your training schedule for this week? This week I'm stuck running all week since I broke my stationary bike. Most likely a 5k every day. Rest day on Saturday or Sunday, not sure which. Depends on what we end up doing this weekend.
Any issues, problems, or vents? Feels like the "chain" on the inside won't catch anymore which pretty much means no more pedaling. Boo. I like riding that much more than running.
Based on that, this pushes me to actually commit to buying a new-to-me bike soon so I can get out there on a real bike before the snow starts falling. I was going to wait until next spring, but maybe people sell theirs around this time of year and I can get a good used one? Maybe? ha
Highlights from last week? I've lost 44 lbs so far. Yay!
Monday: rest Today: three miles Wed: two miles Thurs: three miles Friday: rest Sat: weights Sun: 4 miles
Mileage increases next week!
My inner calfs are still a little tight and my lower back is sore but my massager stick is helping a whole lot.
I did a great five mile run on saturday. We were away for the weekend and had perfect weather and a great river front path. I was supposed to stop at four but just kept going...avg 10:47 per mile for the first time in the history of the world so i was very happy.
I have been sticking to the plan with just a few swaps of days here and there. I want to work in some track workouts next month but i am still just really focusing on getting out there and getting the miles in.
i be typing from me phone. typos and grammer dont count.
