We have a week of meetings and prep time, starting Monday, before school starts. I'll need to pump 3x/day. Last time, I had female bosses and just said point-blank, "I'm going to sneak out of meetings when I need to, to pump."
Now I have a male boss. Do I just come out and say, "I am pumping, which is why I'm not going to be at x, y, or z"?
Does your school schedule allow for 3x a day? Mine wasn't very compatible so I am down to just pumping once during my lunch (but I am also supplementing, any bm I get I am happy about). I am just curious how teachers can work it into their schedules as it wasn't feasible for me with my class schedule.
I would tell him also. I always just said "I'm taking my little break now" or similar, after everyone knew what I was doing.
Not sure if this will work for you, but with kid #1 I started out pumping 3x per day and then after about a month I realized I got the same amount pumping two times per day. I.e. I pumped at 10 and 2 instead of 9, 12 and 3. This worked better for me, since I had a lot of lunch meetings. I did that successfully for 8 more months.
Now, I'm pumping for kid #2 (3.5 months old, just back to work yesterday) and started right off doing 2x per day. I get 18 oz in the two sessions, enough for 3 x 6 oz bottles needed at DC each day. Just a thought, I know it's different for everyone. Good luck!

Yes. I have at least two preps almost every day, plus library time. Wednesdays I only have one prep first thing, so I'll pump at the end of that, at lunch, and during Advisory, when my co-advisor will just have to take the kids.

Holy cow, there's no way I'd get 9oz per session! That's awesome. I think, last time, I started out 3x/day and then at 8 months cut out on session, at 10 months cut out another. I should have almost 400oz saved up by the time school starts, so I may stop pumping altogether a little earlier than I did last time.

That's awesome that you have a great stash. What's funny is that I get 10-11 oz the first session, then 6-8 the second. Moo?? When I was pumping three times, I would get like 8, 6 and 4, so it was same result, just more efficient.
