How often do you change your contacts? My eye doctor told me even the ones approved for long term wearing she recommends taking out every night when possible.
OMG. Ouch. I've never had this happen. And to echo @kevin arnold, definitely keep them lubricated. Growing up, my mom always had dry eyes and now she has a world of eye problems. Get those drops and remember to use them! :-)

Eeesh. No, that has never happened to me before. Did you wear them for longer than normal? Maybe you didn't soak them long enough the night before? Are they old? Be careful!

at bedtime I routinely say to DH "I am going upstairs to take my face off" meaning take off my makeup. or if I am taking my contacts out will say "I am going to take my eyes out" who knew that last night I meant it literally!

I would talk to the eye doc about different brands. After a dozen years in contacts with no problems I was having a lot of issues with dryness/irritation and finally got switched to dailies. It has made a world of difference. They are definitely more expensive but worth every cent.

I haven't heard a pop, but on days that I'm bad about using lubricant drops, my contacts are essentially saran-wrapped to my eyeballs at the end of the day.
I used to have that problem. My eye doctor told me to put a drop in before I put my contacts in. Then if I need to while wearing them. Then put a drop in after I take them out. It has really helped. Especially the drops before I put my contacts in.
Yes. I get a ring in my eyeball after about 10 minutes because they suction on there so hard.
I don't wear contacts much. :/
Apparently mine where doing this and I didn't realize. The doctor saw swelling around the edge of the contact. They noticed on my last exam and had me try a different curve size. The difference is amazing. Now I don't feel them at all and they don't get as dry. I use Oasys which happens to sell in two options but it varies by brand.
Ouch, no! Ditto trying different brands. I have dry eyes and am constantly trying the newest ultra-permeable-oxygen-yadda-yadda lens my doctor offers.
I also experienced a great increase in comfort when I switched from saline solution to the hydrogen peroxide kind. It dissolves all the crap that builds up on my lenses during allergy season (e.g., January-October).
Ditto on making sure you don't over-wear a pair of contacts. I was being a cheap ass when I started buying my own contacts and tried to stretch a pair and got a corneal ulcer from it. Not fun.
