Depending on what they find today, I bet they will hook up to a monitor to see the contraction pattern, you might be put on some form or bed rest and get meds to control the contractions.

Thanks. It's good to know what I might expect. I will update after I see the doc.
Hopefully, it won't come to that, but it is concerning that you doing anything other than lying down seems to bring them on. My bed rest was not too terrible and they lift it at 36 wks.
Huh. The last hospital I worked at had a lower level NICU. We didn't keep babies younger than 31 weeks. With that said, we had 20-something weekers come in all the time for evaluation and monitoring (usually just needed fluids). If they delivered, we just stabilized them and transported them out. I can't believe they don't even have you come in for observation. If your water hasn't broke, they can send you to the other hospital if there is any real concern or necessity. That may be the norm for small hospitals but I think that's a crappy norm.
I had a similar thing at 33 weeks with DD. Contractions for a couple of hours. They had stopped when I got to the hospital but I was dilated to a 3. I got steroid shots and was put on modified bedrest until 37 weeks.
