I am trying to work on nursery stuff here and I'm stumped. So far all I have is a dark grey chair on order, and I think the walls will be a lighter grey.
I'm not really into themes - just doing a green/grey/blue color scheme with random sports accents here and there.
...so with all that being said, back to my original question - would chevron curtains like this be too girly? ...or just too ugly, ha!

Those are really helpful - thanks!!
Busy - I am totally on board with you. Right now it'll either be a red, orange, or yellow mixed in in small doses. My vote was orange, but the H is pretty much set on getting some sort of Ohio State picture in there. I also want to do a basket of baseballs so I may do red, as much as I don't like the color.
Those prints are my compromise with H. I pick a dinosaur thing, he picks sports. I pick a little monster thing, he picks sports. I found some really cute gear sheets & he picked...you guessed it - sports balls. I'm working on not making the room a gym locker room!

I don't think so at all. I like the prints. If you are where I remember you being, I'd steer clear of orange since everyone will automatically go straight to "Rocky Top." You could do yellow accents easily since that's the flag color in football and a card in soccer. That way the red is only in the OSU print and the accent is kind of with the theme, but not in your face.
Those are super cute, Renata! I'm hesitant to pin any baby-related stuff because it's likely to spawn bump watch 2012 among my coworkers and certain friends and family who follow me on Pinterest. I'm not even planning on trying to have a baby anytime soon, I'm not even completely sold on the idea! I just like cute baby rooms, okay??

DS has an orange and white chevron crib skirt and I love it. The only bad part was the fabric was expensive and I could only find one orange/white last fall.
Not at all. I love chevron. These were 2 inspiration nurseries for DS2's room which is yellow and gray. I'm really into mixing up patterns if not overdone. It's visually pleasing to the eye.

I think I'm loving the small chevron prints. May have to go to the fabric store and get a pillow made if I don't go full out with the curtains!
Oh, and as for the Pinterest baby room stuff - when we were TTC I actually emailed Pinterest to see if they had a "private" board feature just for that reason, which of course they don't. I titled mine "If I were to ever have a baby" and left it at that.
Definitely not too girly! I'll be thinking about our nursery (for #2) in the coming months too. Right now the room is full of clothing racks and piles of laundry --- it's basically my closet --- it's a mess!
I really love the yellow pelmet boxes (is that what they're called?) in the photos virginiablue posted. We have those white roller shades in DS's room, and it would really make the windows look more complete!
