could this be a possibility? I love reading the health and fitness board but sometimes I think the weight loss posts get lost with all of the racing / running / cycling posts.
would this interest anyone else or am I alone on this one?
I would rather keep the board all together. Even though I'm not trying to lose weight, I've done it in the past and like to pop into those kinds of posts to read and give advice from time to time. I'd probably not take the time to look on a totally separate board, though. I think that usually a lot of people pop into weight loss posts to offer helpful advice, even if they're not currently trying to lose weight themselves.
I like the variety of topics on H&F even though I'm not a runner/racer anymore, and would hate to see it get split into sub-boards for every sport/diet/whatever out there.

This is true, I would hate to see it split up for every little thing like that too. Maybe a sub-board wouldn't be such a good idea. Thanks for pointing that out Brie!
How are you feeling lately? are you still making it to cross-fit?

I am also trying to lose weight, but I like seeing all the racing/running/cross fit/etc posts - it keeps me motivated and inspires me to want to do new/different things as I lose the weight.
I don't know that I would visit both boards. I'm lazy.

Feeling great, thanks, and still CrossFitting!
I don't know, I just feel like I learn so much from the posts that may not even technically apply to me that I'd hate to split them up. Plus, like PP said, I think that reading about what other people are doing can be encouraging and aspirational, no matter what the level, you know?
I wouldn't mind a sub-board for weight loss. I think that H&F can be intimidating for someone who needs to lose a lot of weight and seeing the sub-board could encourage them a little to start posting. I started lurking weighing over 275 lbs and not being able to jog longer than 3 minutes. I didn't feel like I had anything to contribute to the board. I think a sub-board would bring more people like me out of the shadows and as they lose weight, they'll post more on the general H&F board.

I vote to keep weight loss part of general H&F. As someone who's losing weight, I've found H&F helpful in getting me active too. They go hand in hand. Maybe a weekly weigh-in post would stay near the top of the board, if it were active though. This could be a thought.

Ok, so let's get a weekly check-in going for all of us who are trying to lose weight. I know Smiley (IIRC) made a post right before TN got all fouled up. What is a good day for a weekly check-in?

It doesn't matter which day to me, I can adapt to anyday of the week. I have weighed in on both Fridays and Sundays in the past.
I know the weekends tend to be slower so maybe the check-in could be on Monday to get the week off to a good start?
Mondays kind of suck for me because I over-indulge during the weekend. I'm working on it though so maybe a Monday check-in will be the motivation I need. So what I'm trying to say is, any day works for me .

I'm up for a weekly check-in on a WL thread. I wish more WL people would post as well (me included). I also am intimidated (but still read and am in awe) of all the marathon/crossfit posts. I enjoy the emphasis on health and fitness.

I think we used to do Wednesday Weigh ins or weekly check ins. That seems to be a good day for it.
